English Language Teaching Assistant in Wallis-and-Futuna

The 2018 campaign for the English Language Teaching Assistant position is now open. The deadline for applications is Friday September 15, 2017.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Australian citizens. Permanent residents are not eligible.
  • Candidates must be between 20 and 35 years of age at the time of taking up their position (from 1 March 2018). They should also preferably be single, as the salary of an assistant is not adequate to support dependents.
  • Candidates must be enrolled at an Australian university at the time of their application, and must have completed at least 2 years of university studies.
  • Minimum Level B1 in French is required (see the Cadre européen commun de références pour les langues).

Role of the Assistant

  • Providing help in the classroom in oral and written English with small groups of students for 12 hours every week.
  • Providing linguistic and cultural assistance to teachers.
  • Making recordings on tape for the audio-visual resources of the school’s library.

Contract

  •  Length: 7 months - from March 1 2018 to September 30 2018
  •  A 12-hour per-week schedule in one or more secondary schools
  •  Net monthly remuneration: 1978 € (236 038,19 F XFP)
  •  Monthly living allowance: 460,90€
Application

  1. A completed application form, accessible online by creating an account.

  3. 1 uploaded copy of your university transcripts and degrees obtained (if applicable).
  4. 1 uploaded copy of the medical form, available for download in the online application system.
  5. 1 copy of your passport ID page. Your passport must be valid until December 2018.
  6. 1 uploaded copy of the two separate fiches d’attestation, available for download in the online application system. The forms must be completed and signed by two different teachers and stamped by the university.
NB: It is a requirement that you upload both fiches d’attestation, despite one of them being an optional upload. This is to allow for those students who study at a university with only one French teacher present to complete the application. If you are unable to provide both fiches d’appreciation you must contact Eleanor Harley on education.canberra-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr before submitting your application.

Applications must be completed and submitted by Friday September 15, 2017.
